Saying James Sargent showed a "done and total lack of remorse" for the death of his son last year, a Peoria County judge on Friday sentenced him to the zenith of 100 years in prison. Sargent, 24, showed little reaction and stared ahead as Circuit Conjecture James Shadid read his appeal rights. As he left the courtroom, he didn't look back at his parents or the parents of his erstwhile girlfriend, Tracy Hermann, also facing murder charges for the February 2008 death of Benjamin Sargent. Saying James Sargent showed a "ended and total lack of remorse" for the death of his son last year, a Peoria County judge on Friday sentenced him to the apex of 100 years in prison. Sargent, 24, showed little reaction and stared ahead as Circuit Infer James Shadid read his appeal rights. As he left the courtroom, he didn't look back at his parents or the parents of his antediluvian girlfriend, Tracy Hermann, also facing murder charges for the February 2008 death of Benjamin Sargent. Shadid said itty-bitty beyond praising detectives for their work, and he didn't lay out his reasoning for the sentencing, as he normally does, beyond noting distinct legalities, saying "facts speak for themselves. "I don't believe that someone who would let a 5-month-old rot to death would benefit from (an explanation of the sentencing) or even deserves one," he said. Sargent had just finished a 20-notes speech where he indicated he was at peace but was concerned for the rest of society. It was the longest Sargent had spoken in public since his obstruct, as he didn't testify at trial. Sargent was convicted in April of first-degree murder for the infant ruin. At that bench trial, Shadid also found the South Peoria man's actions from Feb. indicative of wanton cruelty," factors which led to the enhanced decree of up to 100 years. After the sentencing, Thomas and Rosemary Sargent, James Sargent's parents, were shocked and stunned with the decree. Both said they believed a sentence closer to the minimum of 20 years was more appropriate, considering their son will have to serve 100 percent of his hour. Thomas Sargent looked saddened when he said that given his age, he would probably never seen his son free again. Prosecutors Donna Cruz and Nancy Mermelstein argued that the infant's diaper wasn't changed for at least five days and God willing up to a week. His last meal likely came three to four days before he was found, lifeless, on Feb. Prolonged revealing to that unchanged diaper caused his skin to be eaten away and allowed bacteria to seep into his body, ultimately causing his cessation. "It's pretty difficult to think of a more horrendous series of events than those caused by the defendant," Cruz said. "He took a defenseless 5-month-old, strapped him into a car settee, put him into a crib and left him there for days on end. "This child suffered and suffered terribly," Cruz said. DJI, PrecisionHawk comrade on UAV remote sensing for agriculture - GPS World magazine
PrecisionHawk and DJI announced during the Alliance for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International’s Xponential show an exclusive partnership for the agriculture market with a complete agricultural analytics discovery. The solution links DJI’s drone hardware to PrecisionHawk’s drone software platform, DataMapper. “Farmers need real-just the same from time to time information about their crops, their fields and their harvests, and DJI and PrecisionHawk are working together to give them what they need,” said Michael Perry, DJI’s Chairman of Strategic Partnerships. “We are excited to make collecting and analyzing aerial data easier and more cost-competent than ever, because putting this technology within reach of working farmers will help them as well as everyone who relies on the crops they introduce. DJI’s UAV platforms, such as the Matrice M100 and M600 series, allow for extensive customization, providing the flexibility to keep track of crops, carry advanced sensors or accomplish other tasks specific to each mission. The combined package will also contain the new DataMapper Inflight app for data collection and a one-year subscription to DataMapper for data management and analysis. The pairing of energy-leading UAV hardware with the best-in-class analytics platform enables agriculture professionals to concentrate on identifying crop emphasize and maximizing yields. “This partnership is bringing the best of both worlds to the agriculture industry,” said Pat Lohman, VP Partnerships at PrecisionHawk. “By combining our strengths — DJI’s far-out-renowned hardware and PrecisionHawk’s seamless software tools that bridge the gap from flight to geospatial data breakdown — we are effectively eliminating any major barriers to entry and allowing the... With the DataMapper Inflight app, a user can far create a flight plan and autonomously collect geospatial data. Users also have access to DataMapper’s library of criticism algorithms that provide detailed information around the major decisions a farmer makes throughout the season: optimizing inputs, reacting to threats, improving vacillating rate, increasing... “In an effort to do so, the DataMapper Inflight app is now compatible with the entire line of DJI hardware to do it easier and more accessible than ever to collect actionable, aerial data.
